My Story
I began my bonsai journey in 1992 and 30+ years later, my passion for the art of bonsai has never been stronger. I started this business to help others improve their bonsai skills and meet their own goals and aspirations in this fascinating pursuit. Customers will benefit from my fine art training, horticultural experience, love for teaching and watching my students succeed. I have won a number of awards for my trees, including "Finest Bonsai from Canada" at the 8th US National Bonsai Exhibition in September 2023. (See some of my favourites in the Trees gallery).
My Philosophy
In this digital era, bonsai information is easy to find and consume but what is missing is that personal touch. Bonsai is a deeply nuanced, physical and mental activity that needs to be learned by seeing and doing. However, people can easily get lost and frustrated trying to unravel all the information out there and apply it to their particular trees. They need a skilled mentor; someone who will sit down with them and patiently coach them through their learning process. I can give you hands-on coaching and share my experience to help you get the most out of your trees and this amazing hobby.
My Services
I offer the following services, primarily in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area:
- Full day one-on-one workshop (8 hours).
- Half day one-on-one workshop (4 hours)
- Full day group workshop (2-3 people) to share on cost.
- Email, phone and text support (available for workshop participants only)
- Collection evaluation and advice
- Collection care (pruning, styling, transplanting, etc.)
- Lectures, demonstrations, workshops in a group/club setting.
- Photoshop simulations
